W Hodgson was established in 1916 as a family-business in the fishing port of Hartlepool, Fishing revolved around Whiting, Haddock, Cod and Plaice which dominated the slabs.

Hodgson Fish is now the largest independent fish merchant in the North of England, supplying the freshest seafood to leading hotels and restaurants throughout the north of England.

We have no less than 20 Michelin Star restaurants in our portfolio, including 1 two star restaurant The Raby Hunt.

Our fully-qualified filleters will skin, scale, steak, canoe and pin bone any fish to your requirements and our fleet of modern refrigerated vehicles deliver throughout the north of England on a daily basis, ensuring that, whatever you need and whenever you need it, Hodgson Fish delivers every time.

Today, the business is still owned and run by the same family under the Hodgson Fish brand, and our product range has grown substantially to include Tuna, Swordfish, Scallops, Bream, Sea Bass and many other ‘fruits of the sea’ for both the home cook and discerning chef.
